One of my favorite doctors retired yesterday and I was lucky to be scheduled on his very last day.⁠

I surprised him w this piece that I named Possibilities just for him. ⁠
⁠
He was all full of smiles and talking about how excited he was when he first walked in. But by the end of my appointment, after he had opened the gift, he was very quiet and a little choked up.⁠

Retiring is full of possibilities and I wanted to wish him the very best.⁠
⁠
I love when my art elicits emotions.⁠

When I was teaching, I didn't have the time to appreciate Autumn bc I was so caught up in work - lesson plans, grading papers, report cards, etc., etc.⁠

I use a lot of text, especially old dictionaries, in my monoprinting.⁠

Dictionary paper is usually thin, has lots of text, and sometimes pictures - bonus. 👍🏻⁠

I don't use newspapers bc they leave too much ink when they become wet.⁠

It's always a nice added bonus to have dried paint

It's always a nice added bonus to have dried paint activated on my gel plate and pulled off like on the lower left of the white part in the photo.⁠

This used to annoy me and I'd try to keep my gel plates cleaned, but the gel plates became too "loved" over time and now I enjoy when it happens.⁠

The circles that you see are where I laid cut-out circle pieces from Cool Whip lids.⁠

I've cut and experimented w other shapes from plastic lids, circles, lines, and even some letters.⁠
⁠
And of course I'm always seeing possibilities in everything w texture - like the bottom of egg cartons!⁠

I have so much "equipment" for monoprinting that I've bought one of those 3 tiered carts from Michael's to hold just monoprinting necessities.⁠
